Our Brand

We are so proud to introduce you to our new logo! It reflects the diverse, dynamic, confident, and cutting-edge chorus that we are today—a chorus of top quality with an amazing sound that changes lives.

Since 1980, we’ve been pioneers in the LGBTQ community and champions for acceptance, equality, individuality, and fabulous music. We’ve also evolved with our community. Our conversation is no longer just about being gay and male—we are champions for a variety of sexual orientations and gender identities. This flexibility of identity is at the heart of our brand and the new logo, which has been designed to show off the many facets of our personality. 

Our new logo represents an unexpected composition of elements arranged harmoniously to produce the letters NYCGMC. It is inspired by a chorus, from all backgrounds and walks of life, singing in unison with a very distinct perspective. It honors our musical spirit and legacy with shapes and stripes reminiscent of a musical staff—one that’s been rearranged into something surprising and colorful. 

New York City Gay Men’s Chorus is also as much about this wonderful city we call home as it is about our activism and singing. New York is a world capital for for the performing arts and the LGBTQ community. It is diverse, vibrant, gritty, edgy, and surprising—and we are proud to be uniquely cut from the same cloth. Our new logo evokes the angular, architectural landscape of New York City—its streets, subway, and iconic buildings—as well as the pop and graffiti art that has so defined this amazing city around the world.

And finally, our new tagline: Beyond Sensational. It’s the reaction we consistently hear after our performances, but it’s also a reminder that we’re so much more. What we are, and stand for, is beyond rainbows and clichés. What we fight for is beyond stigma and hate. And what we produce is beyond predictability and expectations.

Quite simply, we are…Beyond Sensational.
